During the Iranian Revolution, all six protagonists were involved in feminist and left-wing politics. After the banning of many opposition groups, they were forced to hold their gatherings in secret and continue their work underground. In the 1980s, amid the brutal crackdown by Islamists, they fled via different routes to West Berlin.
